Effect of Educational Programs on Illicit Drug Epidemics

Abstract

In this paper, we propose and analyze an epidemic model considering the effect of educational programs on the control of illicit drug uses. We compute the threshold quantity R0 and determine the number of equilibrium points. By applying the center manifold theory, we show that backward bifurcation occurs in the model, further more the global stability of the equilibrium points of the model investigated using Lyapunov functions and geometric approach to stability.
